SDMM-EN009 The Big Saturn
Dark/Machine - Effect/8/2800/2200

You cannot Special Summon this card from your hand or Deck. Once per turn, you can discard 1 card and pay 1000 Life Points to have this card gain 1000 ATK until the end of the turn. When this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by your opponent's card effect, inflict damage to both players equal to this card's ATK.

I like it. It's interesting, to say the least.

Thoughts?

Great effect.

Plus, nothing says you can Special summon it from the grave.

Just from hand or deck.

Good card is Good.

Go Big O!!!! Showtime!!!!

It seems a little hard to pull off the Normal Summon. I just don't like that it has to be destroyed and sent to grave via opponent's card effect. Other than that, I like the whole damage infliction part.

Not great but fills an empty role with its unique stats(attributes, and type included) and effect.

I see this working for faires as an extra allure target, and trade-in target. Also if you run it in 3's you can run future fusion.

so this is just another card that'll be hype for the year we don't have it, and then when we get it, everyone will realize that it's bad? it's the same old song and dance everytime.

I wouldn't even consider the Big Saturn overhyped, maybe slightly hyped due to his release and cool art, but the card still doesn't seem that bad. Considering that his 2nd effect allows him to discourage the opponent from using cards like DAD, JD, Icarus Attack, and Mirror Force that's not a half bad form of protection, though it definitely could have been better.

The mere fact that he's a lvl 8 Dark Machine makes him highly optimal within and outside of Machine Decks as a DAD/Allure as well as Trade-In fodder. Best thing about Big Saturn though is that he can take down the majority of Synchros and Monsters ran today. Could have been better but he's still a pretty decent guy to be trying out. Also he usable with Machina Fortress in the new set:

Nice anime reference.

Big Saturn is still blah and you have to remember this, no Tier 1 would let this card out without making the other player pay horribly for the effort.
