Ritual of Grace
Ritual Spell Card

Quote

This card is used to Ritual Summon "Divine Grace - Northwemko". You must also Tribute monsters whose total Levels equal 7 or more from the field or your hand. During your Main Phase, you can remove from play this card from your Graveyard to make 1 face-up Ritual Monster you control become un-targetable by effects this turn.

Divine Grace - Northweko
Level 7/LIGHT/Spellcaster/Ritual/Effect
2700 ATK/1200 DEF

Quote

This card can only be Ritual Summoned with the Ritual Spell Card, "Ritual of Grace". When this card is Ritual Summoned, select a number of face-up cards on the field (except this card), up to the number of monsters you used for the Ritual Summon. While any of the selected cards are face-up on the field, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects.

I can see this as a very nice boon to Spellcaster, LIGHT Ritual, and Ritual decks decks in general. I can already see this as a huge gift for the Magical Citadel decks since if you Ritual Summon her out and select at least Magical Citadel, well.....if your opponent can't get rid of the Citadel, then they can't go around getting rid of her except via battle....and good luck running over 2700 ATK. Also, she's LIGHT which means that Honest can be a gift for her. With her being a Spellcaster just open even more support for her if available.

I see her as a almost indestructable 2700 ATK that can plow through anything with the proper support. Another nice boost is the fact that the Ritual Spell itself isn't just to summon her. While it's not much, it can help.....and it can also finish duels off at the right time.

What are your thoughts?

Oh.....and did I say she is pretty?!!!

Its pretty damn good but you would have to run her in a Counter deck to make her as indestructible as you are thinking. On top of that she can still be removed from play or just sent to the grave by effects like Dark End Dragon. So its pretty meh now that we have gotten those points out of the way.

She would have been a little better if she had 2900 attack power so she couldn't be run over by Goyo Guardian. Also hurts how she can still be easily bounced by Brionac.

WIth the abuse of Brionac, this card just seems like too much effort for something that will get bounced.

I am always willing to use this card with the fiend presiders makes for a god monster, no special summoning, draw a card everytime you attack and can't be destroyed by card effect.

Uh...if you brought her out...you could just remove her ritual spell in the graveyard to stop Brionac from bouncing her....?

I think that is the only way to keep any Ritual from being raped by Synchros nowadays.

I played a deck like this at locals, with geartown.

It wrecked, but like other people said, she can still be removed so my sorcs were god.

Well if she is brought out with the fiend presider that doesn't allow your opponent to special summon and the set up was there with Magical Citadel then the only other common card that I know that can get rid of it is Book of Moon to put it face down.

Everyone here claims to be discussing the strengths and weaknesses of Northswenko, but WHERE THE HELL is the mention of the support that makes her, Garlandorf and many other rituals godly now? Its like discussing Judgment Dragon w/o mentioning her LS support or discussing Glads w/o mentioning cards like War Chariot and Rescue Cat.

If you're gonna bash the card, at least mention the support that she's getting alongside her. >_>

I agree...but, I think most people are not fully reading all this new support and using it too their advantage.

Doesn't it say your main phase?

Too lazy to actually keep looking up every individual ritual support. Just consolidate it all into one topic plz.

It's obvious she has her weak points. Brionic, Goyo Guardian, Dark End (which we hasn't gotten in full release yet), RFG cards like BTH.

Also, if I'm understanding this correctly, BTH can work on her since her main effect hasn't resolved yet so that's another problem. Technically, unless you know your opponent's field well and your opponent has minimal cards to mount a suitable comeback, then Ritual Summoning her out could very well be game.

But then again........we can say that for quite a few monsters, now do we?

But combining this with the other Ritual support we are getting this set, it could almost be a free 2700 ATK monster with built-in protection for when you do bring her out.....and that is never a bad thing.

Ritual cards are getting some support next set, and they got some in ANPR. I picked up a couple of her in Ultimate for like 10 bucks for the pair, If GK and Koa'ki Meiru decks pick up, which both have cards that stay on the field, how do you think she fairs as a ritual monster.

Pros:
Honest-able
Effect can keep it on the field for a while if you target the right card.
Spellcaster so it gets all that support

Cons:
It's a ritual monster
Advance Ritual Arts is still limited.

This is one evil apple if you used the Djinns to bring her out. Those effects combined with her own will give her ALOT of staying power on the field. Only thing from calling her outright amazing/broken is not knowing if her ritual has its own special effect for her.

Her Ritual Spell card makes it so that if you remove it from the graveyard, one ritual monster on the field can't be targeted by effects for the turn.
